Tessalon Perles For Cough .l,ko

Guardian Heroes

There was a time when games were on modules. As was a simpler time. The graphics were flat, the sound is limited. But there lurked a shadow over everything, the CD. So it was the games were still flat, but suddenly the space explodes and the developers did not know what to do with. Some games replaced by interactive movies. Others went into the third dimension. And some thought to, "shit on it! The games remain as they are flat and well! ". This was apparently the idea behind Guardian Heroes.
You do not know Guardian Heroes? Then you will probably die a painful death. Is not much of a miracle! The game was released exclusively for the Sega Saturn, known to be estimated ten minutes past lived in the market. So now would be appropriate explain what is Guardian Heroes. In the 90 Sidescrollerprügelgames were so popular that almost every developer those titles on the market dropped out, almost all botch, comparable today with MMOs. This game stands out because it is good, very good, in fact, probably one of the best titles available anywhere for the Saturn. It remains a classic - 2D. At least almost. Action figures and are strictly 2D and animated wonderfully smooth. The three-dimensional environment, however, divided into 3 layers, the fighting in which (very practical and easy to escape). Changed is the level of fighting shoulder buttons, with L you go backward, with R front. Either can be changed linearly with the Y button. Which we'll get to control itself. However good game is worth nothing if the control does not play along. The box is perfect here. Responds to the slightest input. The moves and combos are not unnecessarily complicated. With A Block, B is attack, strong attack C, Y are commands to the NPCs (very practical), Z is magic.
Action tired all the time!

game modes, there are only two. The campaign, which can either be disputed for two - and let's be honest again, that is precisely what is interesting about this genre. Particularly noteworthy is the non-linear storyline and multiple ends. Again and again, the player Decisions, which, quite trivial, 'Defeat evil-the-story' influenced. This greatly increases the replay value, especially since the main mode is played out in just one and a half hours. However, one then has seen but only a fraction of the nearly 30 'Level'. Who has no desire to play through once, the game saves, either to internal memory or a memory card.
The second game mode is called Versus and that is to be expected. (Provided Multitap and pads) Up to 6 players can be here one on the bell. As playable characters here are not only the protagonists of the campaign are available, but the bad guys and all the stooges - if it been unlocked are.

And now again back to the past with the CD. Uses the advantages of this game now - back then - the new medium. Short answer: Yes. And, fortunately, not cruel, low-polygon 3D models, or - even worse - interactive films, but it has a soundtrack that is so sensational that I describe him at all here can. The developers have even thought along so far and given the opportunity to the soundtrack without playing the game anzuhöhren. CD into the system, and expect a 20 from track 2, in words twenty (!), Sensational music masterpieces.

Conclusion:
+ Break Loose Action
+ Sensational Soundtrack
+ scope
+ wonderful 2D graphics (still)
+ Perfect control
+ no load times
+ Up to six players
+ characters gain levels, to
+ Selectable difficulty
campaign too soon
story irrelevant
dialogs not breakable
-Partially-hectic
slowdowns in many effects and enemies at once

for this game alone is worth a Saturn to create, especially since it now costing almost nothing. So should you stumble on a flea market on the one hand, there is no reason to say no. And you should not defy you to be sure. There is also a remake for the Game Boy Advance - 'Advance Guardian Heroes' - which covers everything but not quite approach the original. The education center will award 9 / 10 hit in the face and a clear game recommendation.
